A Bit About Me

My name is Tana Kickett and I am a proud Noongar woman from the South West of Western Australia. Through my art, I share the symbols, patterns, and messages that reflect the richness of my culture and heritage and the natural beauty of our land. I love that my artworks give me the opportunity to share stories to not only my own children but all people including future generations of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.

Acknowledgement of country

My heart and soul are deeply rooted in the Pilbara of Western Australia, where I live and work. I acknowledge the Ngarluma people as the traditional custodians of the land I live and work on. I acknowledge their elders past, present and their many emerging future leaders. I feel very fortunate to live in this beautiful place and acknowldege the Pilbara's rich Indigenous history. I also acknowledge where I have come from - My family from the Ballardong / Whadjuk tribes - Noongar people of the South West. I acknowledge all First Nations people of Australia. I work towards learning and sharing as much as I can. I believe our history and culture is something that should be embraced by all Australians and something that as Australians we can all be proud of.
