The rock wallaby represents Tammin, my Dads home town where he was born and still considers his home. Tammar is a Noongar word for Rock Wallaby that lived in the area and that’s how Tammin came to get it’s name. The large circle in the middle represents his home and origin, his family are around the centre, his brothers and sisters. Dad has come a long way since he was born in Tammin in a tent near a little well just outside of town but it’s where his heart is and where he will one day return. This home circle represents Tammins significance to him. There are journey lines in the painting representing Dads journey. Part of his journey is again the Tammar and Karda (Noongar for Goanna). There are also emu prints that remind me of stories Dad has told me more recently about his life in Tammin. To me, this painting honours his history and his connections to family as well as signifying his journey and his future, represented by childrens handprints.

Materials

Canvas prints go through a colour matching process with the original artwork to make sure your print is an exact match to the original painting. The prints are made with the highest quality canvas and include added protection to maintain the colour and quality for years to come. The print has a mirrored edge effect so it can be nicely stretched over a frame.

Photo Rag - Giclee printing on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Smooth, 308gsm – very matte, 100% cotton finish, smooth, no sheen.
