Turtle Dreaming - Art Print
Turtle Dreaming - Art Print
I worked on this painting late at night when my kids were in bed and I was so excited to finally have it come together and get him finished. I wanted to make this turtle look like he was swimming through the wardan - ocean in Noongar. This painting is also in my favourite colours. I have spend many weekends on Murujuga country of the Dampier Archipelago with my family. Seeing the hundreds of turtle nests on the islands and baby turtle tracks is a reminder that there has been thousands and thousands of years of history here and we are only visitors to this beautiful place. The wardan also shares significance to the Noongar people. In Noongar culture when someone passes away, their spirit goes west and is carried through the wardan to another place. This place is Koorranyup and I imagine it’s much like heaven.

Canvas prints go through a colour matching process with the original artwork to make sure your print is an exact match to the original painting. The prints are made with the highest quality canvas and include added protection to maintain the colour and quality for years to come. The print has a mirrored edge effect so it can be nicely stretched over a frame.
